The Wander Girls: Tours For Women Only!

Going niche seems to be the mantra these days. And based on this Mantra, Mumbai based entrepreneur, Hetal Doshi has launched ‘The Wander Girls’ which organizes national and international trips and events, but only for women!

Only Women Allowed!

The Wander Girls (TWG) organizes women only trips in India and around the world. They also offer trip planning services and India tour packages to International tourists who are interested in travelling to India. Additionally, TWG also holds various women only events in Indian metro cities with the goal of providing women with an opportunity to meet and interact with other women.

The Founder

TWG was founded by Hetal Doshi. A banker, entrepreneur, writer, and budding photographer, Hetal has worn many hats to find one that best fits. Hetal has an undergraduate degree in Finance, as well as an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University, USA.

Hetal has lived in and travelled to different countries and continents like USA, Canada, Europe, China, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and various South East Asian countries.

Her travels made her realize that she is happiest when on the road, alone or with a bunch of friends, travelling to destinations that are yet to be discovered. She founded TWG with the purpose of sharing this passion for travel and providing women with social and professional networking options.

Hetal believes travel is all about enjoying the journey and not simply reaching a destination.

What’s Unique?

With her extensive travel experience and knowledge, Hetal ensures that TWG trips are a carefully crafted mix of scenery, history, culture, adventure, local gastronomy, getting to know the people, and shopping!

“Our trips are built keeping in my mind all the interests and activities a girl would want to be a part of. Large tour operators don’t take this into account!” says Hetal.

The events (Mixers and Meet-ups) are a unique way of bringing together and creating a community for women and empower them in the social and professional arena.

TWG trips are comfortably paced thus allowing one to enjoy every single moment of the trip. Whether one is looking for a short weekend break, a reading holiday, a bachelorette outing, a getaway with girlfriends, a wellness vacation, a shopping expedition, a fitness trip, a rural experience, or a longer trip to various destinations, one will find something that resonates within.

Why Travel?

Hetal believes that on her trips she has overcome her fears, learned to appreciate different viewpoints, handle stressful situations confidently, and more importantly made the most of every single moment.

She believes travel pushes us to introspect. It allows us to stay young at heart (thus ‘The Wander Girls’ and not ‘The Wander Women’)!

“Travel gives us the chance to connect with people around the world. It allows us to disconnect from mindless worries and refreshes our mind in the process,” she says.

Hetal and the team at The Wander Girls believe that travel is their way of life.

Upcoming Trips

In August end we have a Road trip to Konkan in the Monsoon. It’s a beautiful time to visit Konkan as everything is verdant,” says Hetal. This trip will allow one to experience the waterfalls, temples, forts, beaches, miles and miles of coastline filled with greenery and mist!

In September end they have a trip to Goa. Unlike most trips to Goa which simply focus on the beaches of Goa, this trip will include Chorla Ghats in Swapnagandha Valley, walk through the heritage area and Latin Quarters called Fontainhas, a night at a floating casino, enjoying the Doodhsagar Waterfalls which is at its best in the monsoon, and a whitewater river rafting experience on the Mandovi river, in addition to churches, temples and forts!
